MCH has released its new UniversalView database that features more than 1.3 million institutions
and key contacts by name. This compiled database describes the fastest growing portion of the
business landscape.
“Institutions are the most important and least understood segment of business-to-business
marketing,” MCH President John F. Hood said. “Healthcare, education, government, and religious
organizations account for more than one-third of the U.S. economy and that share is growing. Since
most marketers apply strategies and data designed for the commercial business world to these big
buying institutions, they’re missing out on a great deal of revenue potential.”
The UniversalView database is based on new licensing and formatting options from MCH’s
Institutional InSites™ database. It is designed to support marketers who currently license the
general business databases provided by D&B, InfoUSA, and Experian.
“UniversalView is a powerful supplement to general business files,” Hood said. “MCH focuses
exclusively on the institutions, using customized compiling methods to capture key information with
more precision, completeness, and accuracy than typical business files. Better data leads to
improved models, increased efficiency of sales and marketing efforts, and capturing more profit
from institutional buyers.”
MCH was founded in 1928 with a subscriber list of school administrators. Over the decades,
the company has developed an extensive compiled database of hospitals, local government offices,
schools, churches, prisons, nursing homes, and 35 other types of institutions.
“We’ve supported institutional direct mail for nearly 80 years. We understand institutions
and how to help our clients work more profitably in this segment.” Hood said. “The new
UniversalView database clarifies a complex, lucrative market with a data layout that is useful and
meaningful for database marketers, modelers, and corporate marketing departments.”
With a softening economy, institutions can be an appealing oasis for B2B marketers. Since
most institutions provide essential services to broad populations, they continue spending during
economic downturns. “Historically, effects of an economic downturn are delayed and minimized.
Institutions aren’t immune to recession, but they are highly recession-resistant.
UniversalView provides one-year use licensing for each institution’s mailing address,
physical location, primary phone and fax numbers, key contact name and job function. In addition,
MCH assigns each personal name and each location with permanent identification numbers that provide
tracking capabilities for users who load the database on internal systems.
